Dale Sall Class of 1954 Real Estate Dale’s father was among the founding families that built Unity from the ground up when the school opened in 1953. Dale was among the first graduating class (totaling 25 students) of Unity Christian High School in 1954.
Dale’s wife, son, and his two daughters all graduated from Unity and he has three grandchildren currently attending Unity with two more currently enrolled at Hudsonville Christian School. “We have appreciated so very much how Unity has supported us as parents in embracing the spiritual values and lifestyle of living for Jesus.”

Gaylen Byker Class of 1966 President of Calvin College “While at Unity, I only vaguely began to grasp the real academic, spiritual and character development value of the education I was receiving. As I moved to the Army, college, graduate school and the fields of law, international business and higher education, I appreciated more and more the solid foundation I received at Unity.” “I also learned from my parents and my teachers how important it is to make the investment — often at a sacrifice — that is necessary for an excellent Christian Education.”

Kurt De Kock Class of 1990 Vice President of Operations—Kerkstra Precast, Inc Kurt currently has three future Unity students he hopes to see graduate “Lord willing” from Unity. His son Karl represents the future graduating class of 2018, with Jesse following in 2020 and his daughter Kate in 2021! “The ability to keep Christ as the center of my life was furthered by my years at Unity,” recalled Kurt when asked about his Unity experience.

Jerry Glashower Class of 1957 Owner, Georgetown Waterproofing Jerry’s five children each graduated from Unity along with four of his grandchildren. Jerry has four more grandchildren currently enrolled, with the last two graduating from Unity in 2010! Jerry appreciated the fact that “what was taught in my home and in my church was also reinforced at Unity Christian High School.”

 

Deb Deters Class of 1979 Business Entrepreneur “As I look back on my years at Unity, I remember always being encouraged to live my faith no matter where I was and to integrate it into my everyday life. Having been in the business world now for many years, those words have stayed with me and have been a driving force behind how I run my business, treat my employees and also how I’ve lived my life.”

Annie & Craig Hoekzema Class of 2002 Annie is an elementary school teacher, Craig is currently a medical student Annie and Craig feel that “Unity challenged and prepared us for college academics, and we thank God for the privilege of receiving an excellent Christian education.”

Jim and Jane Krol Class of 1979 Jim works in finance, Jane is a registered nurse Jim and Jane have four children with Unity ties; with three graduating within the last few years and the last of their four children on pace to graduate from Unity in 2010. “We formed relationships with God and others that are still strong today. Unity helped us uncover talents we now use every day. We have seen this repeated in our children,” said the Krols.

Dan Landstra Class of 1987 Bible Teacher, Unity Christian High School “Being part of a Christian community at Unity Christian has a value far beyond the years spent here as a student.”

Carmen Schreiber Class of 2000 Banking A daughter of a Unity Christian graduate, Carmen states, “Unity Christian has given me a strong base for my faith, lifelong Christian friends and the confidence to apply my faith in everyday life.”

Winona (Dyk) Tinholt Class of 1988 School Teacher A daughter of a Unity graduate, she is thankful that “Unity taught me that God has a great plan for my life and I need to be ready and open for it to be realized!”
